Tiwa Savage Collaborates With American Star Remy Ma In A New Project

We don’t want to start a needless debate but we are just wondering when our very own stars will do collaborations with high-profile with US top stars.
Yes, Sarkodie and Fuse ODG have been there but we need more to augment our musical status and prove to the world how talented we are. There is a huge advantage of doing collaborations with these American recording artistes which we don’t want to discuss now for lack of space.
Tiwa Savage of Nigeria has teamed-up with female American rapper Rema Ma on a joint entitled Plata o Plomo, which is still undergoing refinement as at press time.
Rema Ma belongs to Fat Joe’s rap crew, Terror Squad who are best remembered for Lean Back released in 2005. The 36-year old rapper from New York has won some awards which include BET Award for best female hip hop.
Fat Joe has been effusive about Tiwa saying, “She is huge, she is like the African Rihanna type, you know.”
Tiwa Savage was recently in the US where she joined the likes of Jay Z, DJ Khalid, Remy Ma and other stars for the annual Roc Nation Branch ahead of the Grammys
We congratulate Tiwa Savage and can’t wait for the track to drop soon. Hard work pays!

Counselor George Lutterodt in trouble

Counselor George Lutterodt has gained notoriety for passing volatile comments on any topical issue in the country especially that of relationship and sex. Some notable TV and radio stations have sought his services to discuss pertinent issues in that regard.
However many see him as a nuisance who should not be given the widespread recognition he is getting now. His most recent comment about Victora Lebene seems to be what has angered quite a number of Ghanaians who think he ought to be shove into his proper place.
One of such persons is Nii Aryee who has taken to social media to start campaign to have the counsellor barred from radio and TV.
The young man wrote; “Hello, my name is Nii Aryee, an everyday Ghanaian young man. Anytime I sit down and listen to Counsellor Lutterodt speak on radio when he is given the platform to speak on issues concerning marriage and relationships, he says nothing useful. Counsellor Lutterodt has spewed very ridiculous and hateful statements about Ghanaian men and women.
He even goes as far as meddling in the private love lives and affairs of Ghanaian celebrities and passes very unsavoury comments. It is improper for him to be on Ghanaian public airwaves making the comments he makes.
The language Mr. Lutterodt uses is demeaning to women and men, and families should not have to hear it over the radio. Not anymore.
Enough is enough with this loud mouthed, often misinformed so-called Counsellor.”
Perhaps this will make the counselor tone down a little bit because he is taking his unorthodox counselling a bit too far.

Cape coast stadium in a bad state after Shatta wale's mass concert

Green Grass Technology, the firm in charge of maintaining the pitch at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium, was not consulted prior to the hosting of a musical concert involving dancehall artiste Shatta Wale over the weekend at the facility, Frank Boahene, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, has disclosed.

The aftermath of the mega concert at the stadium on Saturday 18 February has left the green grass in a bad state with questions being raised about the maintenance of the multi-million dollar facility commissioned in May 2016.

“On Monday [20 February] when our workers went there, they saw the pitch in a bad state and wondered why the facility was in that state. Days before the concert, the pitch was in a fantastic state and so it came to us as a surprise. We consulted the Central Regional Sports Authority and were told Shatta Wale had a show there,” Mr Boahene told Class Sports, adding: “We were never consulted before the show.”

A judge has ordered R&B singer Chris Brown to stay away from his ex-girlfriend after she accused him of physically abusing and threatening her.
The Grammy winner was ordered to stay 100 yards (91 metres) away from Karrueche Tran and not attempt to contact her after she wrote in court filings that Brown had repeatedly threatened her since December.
Tran also accused the singer of punching her in the stomach and pushing her down stairs a few years ago. Her filing does not offer any additional specifics or note if she reported the events to police. It states that no one was present at the time.

The order, which was issued Friday, also calls for Brown to surrender any firearms he has until a March 9 hearing on the restraining order.
An email message sent to Brown's lawyer Mark Geragos was not immediately returned.
Brown and Tran dated after the singer pleaded guilty to felony assault for an attack on Rihanna in 2009 just hours before the Grammy Awards.
A judge ended Brown's probation in 2015, after several missteps that included punching a man outside a Washington hotel and stints in rehab.

WHATSAPP IS ADDING A FEATURE SIMILAR TO SNAPCHAT

WhatsApp, which has more than a billion users, on Monday introduced a revamped version of its Status feature. Users will be able to share a string of photos and videos that disappear after 24 hours.
Jan Koum said, “It was just eight years ago, in February 2009, when we started writing the first lines of code for what would eventually become WhatsApp. The original idea behind the project was to build an application that lets your friends and other contacts know what you’re up to. This was months before we added messaging. The first version of our app looked like this:
Even after we added messaging in the summer of 2009, we kept the basic “text only” status functionality in WhatsApp. Every year, when Brian and I would plan projects to work on, we always talked about improving and evolving this original “text only” status feature.
We are excited to announce that, coinciding with WhatsApp’s 8th birthday on February 24, we are reinventing the status feature. Starting today, we are rolling out an update to status, which allows you to share photos and videos with your friends and contacts on WhatsApp in an easy and secure way. Yes, even your status updates are end-to-end encrypted.

Just like eight years ago when we first started WhatsApp, this new and improved status feature will let you keep your friends who use WhatsApp easily updated in a fun and simple way. From all of us at WhatsApp, we hope you enjoy it!”

ADEHYE HALL WEEK CLIMAX

Adehye Hall, affectionately called Royals, has climaxed its 54th Hall Week with a colorful grand durbar.
The week-long celebration was on the theme ” Women in Enterprise Development: The Role of Tertiary Education.”
Speaking at the grand durbar, a Banker and a Retired Army Officer, Nana Kwesi Amoako, advised students to be creative and innovative in creating jobs for themselves so as to reduce unemployment in the country. He urged students to come out with creative and innovative skills to make themselves self-reliant.
He advised Royals to seize the opportunities available to them on campus to start their own businesses. “You don’t need to wait and get out of school and be jumping from one office to the other looking for a job, where you are going to have problems with managers and directors and CEOs trying to go to bed with you before they can help you with a job,” he cautioned.
Mr. Amoako called on young entrepreneurs to find a mentor in life, adding that mentorship would help them to realise their dreams and achieve greater heights. He advised students to be very smart in life and to be time conscious in all their endeavours, emphasising that “time lost can never be regained.”
The Hall Warden of Adehye Hall, Ms. Paulina Yaa Kwafoa, in her address, advised students to refrain from all negative tendencies that could jeopardize their academic lives.
She said Adehye Hall would not compromise the health of its residents and would continue to stand tall as the neatest Hall in the University.
Consequently, Ms. Kwafoa urged all residents to keep the Hall clean to prevent any diseases. She explained that the Hall ensures that training was given to Royals in order to make them women of substance.
“I must confess that Adehye Hall inculcates good virtues in her Royals to excel everywhere. The Hall continues to ensure that the Royals are trained in all spheres of their lives, traditionally, culturally and intellectually”, she said, to cheers from the audience.
Ms. Kwafoa bemoaned the lack of wardrobes as one of the major challenges facing the Hall. “I mentioned it(wardrobes) at last year’s Hall Week durbar that majority of our students’ wardrobes are dilapidated, forcing most of our students to keep their belongings on their bed”, said the Hall Warden, who was clad in the Hall traditional cloth.
The Hall President, Ms. Mahalia Esi Bamford, extolled the remarkable achievements the Hall had chalked during her presidency. She called on students to take their studies seriously and work hard to take up positions of trust in the society.
The Hall durbar, which was interspersed with colourful cultural performances by the Adehye Cultural Troupe, saw the enstoolment of a new queen mother with the stool name Obaahemaa Rachael A. Coffie.
As part of activities marking the Hall Week, the Hall donated 30 packs of toilet rolls and medical equipment to the Children’s Ward of the University Hospital.

Kwame Nkrumah Hall Climaxes Women's Week Celebration with a Fashion Show

The maiden edition of the women's week celebration by the Hall of excellence in the University of Cape coast commenced on Wednesday, 14th October, 2015 with a general meeting and an official launch of the week's celebration.

It was great seeing most affiliates of the hall present to partake in the celebration. On the second day of the week long celebration was an entrepreneurship seminar and a hepatitis B health screening which was open to all and sundry to check their status. Friday,16th October, 2015 was dubbed Vocational Training Day; students, both male and female, were taught how to make accessories, shoes, slippers, bags, etc. The students did marvelous works with the items given to them. The final day to climax the week's celebration was just a memory worth repeating. It happened on the 17th October,2015. In the morning, there was an open air debate on women empowerment since the theme for the celebration centred on women empowerment.
In the evening of that fateful day was a fashion show where there was an exhibition of African bags, shoes, slippers, and necklaces from various designers. There were series of music, dance, poetry recital and other performances to spice up the program with Kofi Taylor, Winston Micheals, Delis, Rap Dizzle and others taking turns to entertain the audience with various rap performances. In an interview with Wendy Aniagyei, the vice president of the hall, she said "It wasn't easy being the sole organizer of such a big event but I said to myself....what can stop me? Definitely nothing because I have a Great God". She was optimistic about the program being a yearly one and one that will continue to empower women on campus.
