Kwame Nkrumah Hall Climaxes Women's Week Celebration with a Fashion Show

The maiden edition of the women's week celebration by the Hall of excellence in the University of Cape coast commenced on Wednesday, 14th October, 2015 with a general meeting and an official launch of the week's celebration.

It was great seeing most affiliates of the hall present to partake in the celebration. On the second day of the week long celebration was an entrepreneurship seminar and a hepatitis B health screening which was open to all and sundry to check their status. Friday,16th October, 2015 was dubbed Vocational Training Day; students, both male and female, were taught how to make accessories, shoes, slippers, bags, etc. The students did marvelous works with the items given to them. The final day to climax the week's celebration was just a memory worth repeating. It happened on the 17th October,2015. In the morning, there was an open air debate on women empowerment since the theme for the celebration centred on women empowerment.
In the evening of that fateful day was a fashion show where there was an exhibition of African bags, shoes, slippers, and necklaces from various designers. There were series of music, dance, poetry recital and other performances to spice up the program with Kofi Taylor, Winston Micheals, Delis, Rap Dizzle and others taking turns to entertain the audience with various rap performances. In an interview with Wendy Aniagyei, the vice president of the hall, she said "It wasn't easy being the sole organizer of such a big event but I said to myself....what can stop me? Definitely nothing because I have a Great God". She was optimistic about the program being a yearly one and one that will continue to empower women on campus.
